Google has announced the launch of Google Trader ,as part of its efforts to drive the web forward in Nigeria, and highlight the entrepreneurial opportunities presented by the Internet. Trader is a free online classifieds service that helps Nigerians buy and sell products and services, as well as search for jobs, housing, second-hand items, or just about anything else.

Do you need to sell a truckload of agricultural produce, or the sofa that you nolonger need? Regardless of what product or service you are looking to buy or sell,Google Trader has thousands of products and services available in your area. Trader can be used by anyone in Nigeria, but is expected to have the biggest uptake in major towns and cities across the country. Individuals can post short ads to buy and sell items and services, whilst businesses of any size can also use the site to reach more customers and increase their sales.
Juliet Ehimuan, Google Nigeria Country Manager said, “The launch of Google Trader inNigeria will help buyers and sellers find what they are looking for, quickly and easily, whether from their PC or their mobile phone. Trader is a free service will encourage the creation of locally relevant information online, as well as offer new economic opportunities for thousands of enterprising Nigerians.”
